A rare mess of an episode?
30 April 2020 | by Observer_2020See all my reviews

Most episodes of the series are good to great. Some stories can fall into a formula but they are still entertaining, in part because of the strong characters. But this episode? Not so much.

One story was particularly gruesome, involving descriptions of kidnapping and extended torture. The scenes weren't graphic as most of the events took place in the past. This story was paired with a case that turned into an absolute farce. Almost like something one would see in a 1980s sex comedy. It was very out of character for this show. Of course there were many moments of humor throughout the series. But I don't recall seeing farcical scenes involving any of the main characters until this episode.

Some may enjoy the over-the-top comedy bit, but it felt like those scenes were jammed into the wrong show. This episode was a rare miss for the writing team.
