    STEVE'S PICTURESQUE HOUSE?

Has the feel of something Mike would get himself into, although he has Sally, right? In a clever switch, it's Steve with a crush on an attractive lady who is the editor for a home and garden-type magazine. And she's a very busy person. Comes the idea, Steve figures he'll get to finally spend some quality time with her IF he enters the house in a contest? Really, not a bad idea.

That said, the old place is NOT ready for prime time, especially with Bub wandering around, picking up after everybody and doing the chores.

Will it work anyway? Not if she sends her assistant. You knew something like that would happen, it just had to be.

Best part of this episode is the appearance of Jean Stapleton, many years before ALL IN THE FAMILY, however her acting style is there. She appeared in many dramatic roles long before sitcom fame. Co-starring Diane Foster (who passed in 2019), a veteran of classic films, although known for her many appearances in tv westerns for Warner Brothers/ABC.

Good script by Dorothy Cooper, who was lead writer for FATHER KNOWS BEST. Dedicated to Steve, and Fred MacMurray is a classic by himself.

SEASON 4 EPISODE 28 remastered dvd box set. Seasons 1 through 5 are on dvd. Welcome news is all 12 seasons are now on dvd in a single box set. Thanks always to both METV and CATCHY TV for reviving this super sitcom.
