Storyline

Plot Summary

Jessica is invited to dine with East German concert violinist Greta Mueller, her overprotective brother Franz and security chief Colonel Gerhardt Brunner, and next is joined during the concert by British secret agent Michael Hagarty, working as Dennis McKelvy, who has blood on his hand when he abducts her and the Mueller's limousine to the British embassy at gun point, asking for sanctuary. In fact, Paul's defection was for protection as he was working as a SIS agent, which was rightly expected to be discovered. Then fellow spy, Jack Kendall, is found stabbed dead in the embassy garden, holding a white rose, the code name of an operation Jessica earlier overheard him mention over the telephone, an Apartheid opponent Benjamin Kumbasa's stabbing. First Secretary Henry Claymore agrees in the ambassador's absence to 'Dennis' and Jessica investigating freely, presuming a connection between both murders. Meanwhile, Greta refuses to join Franz's defection even before their family in the GDR is taken hostage by the government. Written by KGF Vissers
