In "We All Hate Granny", Dawn French "ages" (with the help of the makeup and clothing departments) about 30 years to play a semi-senile granny who comes to stay with the rest of her family after her husband dies. Her daughter can't wait for her to die as well so that she and her recently fired from his job husband can inherit her considerable fortune. But after several months pass and the old lady shows no signs of obliging them, the couple decide to try and speed up the process! Although Dawn French proves once again that she is an acting chameleon, the real star of "We All Hate Granny" is Victoria Wicks, who is absolutely gorgeous, expressive, and very funny: you will both love and hate her perverse character. This episode is an amusing (very) black comedy (especially during the unsuccessful murder attempts), though the final twist does not have the impact it would if it had not already been made quite clear that Granny is more aware of what's going on than she lets people think. **1/2 out of 4.
