    Storyline

    • Trivia
The lock where the "Fish-Slapping Dance" was filmed had a much higher water level prior to filming. When it came time to actually film the sketch, the water level had lowered about five feet, meaning that Michael Palin really had to take a dive.
    • Goofs
At the end of the program, when the landlady (Michael Palin) is kicking out various BBC programs from the "flat", she slams the door on one man (Terry Jones) who pops his head out to make a comment. When the door slams, the upper part of the wall shakes.
    • Quotes

Narrator: At this stage Mr. Norris was faced with two major divergent theories concerning his Surbiton ancestors. Did they take the Kingston Bypass turning left at Barnes, or did they strike west up the A308 via Normanton to Hampton Wick? Both these theories run up against one big obstacle, the Thames. Lying like a silver turd between Richmond and Isel.

[stopped at edge of the river right next to a bridge]

Narrator: This was a major set back. How could they possibly cross the river?

    • Crazy credits
The credits for this episode begin with a close-up of a piece of paper slipped through a mail slot in the door. The camera then moves to other papers on the floor, showing the rest of the credits, as the theme music plays. At the end of the music (coinciding with the animated foot and raspberry sound for the opening credits), a real foot in a fuzzy slipper steps on the last piece of paper.
