Quotes

Al: Marcy, I need your advice. How can a young, attractive, not-so-bright woman like my daughter Kelly earn $1,000 in three nights?
Marcy: Well, lets see. Either as an opening act for M.C. Hammer, or by spanking elderly gentlemen in a tight black leather dress.
Al: Hey now, my daughter may be a lot of things, but she would never resort to professions like that.
[Kelly enters wearing a tight black leather dress]
Kelly: Daddy, I'm going out now and I'll be home by dawn.
Al: Sure, have a good time pumpkin.

***SPOILER***

Kelly asks Al for $1000 for a gown for her modeling school and, of course, she doesn't get it. Several days later, however, she's not only managed to get the $1000 for the gown but some more besides. A suspicious Al follows Kelly one night when she goes out, dressed in a short and tight leather dress, and discovers that she's making the money by using her heretofore unknown talent for hustling pool. Al is about to yank her out of the pool hall when the local pool shark plops down $10,000 and says he can "beat any girl in the house!"

This is a very funny episode in which Christina Applegate really shines. She not only looks volcanically hot in her leather outfit but manages at the same time to, much like Marilyn Monroe did, project a childlike innocence and vulnerability that almost overshadows her blatant sexuality. Applegate's timing is really quite impressive; she is one of the few truly beautiful women who can do comedy so well that she makes it look easy, when it's actually very hard work.

If you haven't seen this one yet, do so. It's definitely worth it.
