Storyline

The wife of a wealthy industrialist disappears from their sailboat off the coast of Mexico, and he initially hires Mannix to learn how she disappeared (and partly because he knows that a husband is usually the primary suspect in the disappearance of a wife). Then his wife is found, apparently safe, in a small village in Mexico. But after she returns to California, Mannix -- with Art Malcolm's help -- learns some disturbing information about her past, which suggests that she might know more about her disappearance than she is willing to admit. Goofs

Mannix is told that the orphanage where Gina Hunter lived as a child had a statue of "St. Francis of Assisi" in the front. In the establishing shot of what is supposed to be the orphanage, however, the shot actually depicts what is clearly a statue of Jesus, not St. Francis, with his arms outstretched; St. Francis is usually depicted wearing a monk's cassock, not the kind of robes on the statue shown here. (The shot of the statue, including the children running past it, is actually recycled from the premiere episode of Season 5, "Dark So Early, Dark So Long.") See more »
