Storyline

A man named Tom Farnon suspects his wife of having an affair, and follows her to his boat where she is to meet her lover. But a shot rings out, the other man flees, the boat explodes, and Farnon finds himself a suspect in her murder. Farnon approaches Joe Mannix and asks Mannix to learn the identity of the man she met. The best lead Mannix has is Phil Rand, another private investigator who once worked for Farnon -- but Rand insists that Mrs. Farnon never had an affair. Written by aldanoli

Quotes

Joe Mannix: Mr. Blake.
Carl Blake: Please excuse me for not shaking hands. Come in. Come in. Can I fix you a drink?
Joe Mannix: No, thank you.

Joe Mannix: Say, this is quite a collection.
Carl Blake: This is only part of it. There's more in my workshop. You know, I keep telling myself this is only a hobby. But, frankly, I think I'm a frustrated gunsmith. Please sit down.

Tom Farnon, ultimate patsy...
20 February 2015 | by MartinHaferSee all my reviews

When the show begins, a man overhears his wife's conversation with her lover over the phone. Not surprisingly, he shows up to the place where the lovers are to meet. However, he finds his wife dead and the boat on which they were to meet explodes. Obviously he's been setup--and the only witnesses see him not the guy who ran away shortly before he exited the boat. Tom Farnon is obviously some patsy--but who is going to believe it? Yep--Mannix! The case just seems too cut and dry--like a setup. I could say more but the bottom line is that it's up to you to see this one unfold yourself. It's very well written, has some excellent twists and doesn't rely on "Mannix" clichés such as seeing Joe bashed over the head or run off the road! Well done and very interesting.
