Jerry Seinfeld's uncredited appearance along with the appearance of Kramer in season 1 (The Apartment) establish that Mad About You and Seinfeld inhabit the same universe. Although no Seinfeld characters appear in Friends, Jamie and Fran visited Central Perk early in the series and mistook Phoebe for her twin Ursula, so all three shows share the same universe.

Goofs
In "The Apartment" (season 1, episode 8), it was established that Paul Buchman lived across the hall from Jerry Seinfeld and sublet his apartment to Cosmo Kramer. In this episode, there is no recognition that Seinfeld and Buchman were neighbors.
