- General Korshak wants Hawkeye to be his personal practitioner, despite his constant snottiness. And Radar helps take care of a soldier's half-Korean baby after he is shipped back home.
- Colonel Bidwell (Leonard Stone) of "I" Corp operations is doctor shopping; he wants the cream of the 4077 crop to be personal physician to three-star General Theodore A. Korshak, (Edward Binns) Commander of "I" Corp and tamer of the tiger tank. Bidwell wants to see Hawkeye, the least possible GI of all Army doctors, in action. Bidwell watches as Hawkeye wrestles his patient from the grasp of "the bastard" (death). A GI returning stateside, Cpl. Mulligan (Larry Wilcox) asks Radar to do him a favor: watch over his girl, Mai Ping... and their baby, Lee Chin. Korshak is not a man who takes "no" for an answer and he thinks Hawkeye is a pistol. Radar finds he likes being a family man. Can Hawkeye handle being chief lackey to a three-star general?—LA-Lawyer
- Colonel Bidwell (Leonard Stone) of "I" Corp operations is looking for a new doctor; he wants the cream of the 4077 doctors to be personal physician to three-star General Theodore A. Korshak, (Edward Binns) Commander of "I" Corp and the General who tamed the Tiger tank. Bidwell sees that Hawkeye had the best medical record in the unit. Potter tells him Hawkeye is not the man Bidwell is looking for, but Bidwell insists that he wants nothing but the very best. Potter says many men are alive because Hawkeye works at the 4077, but Bidwell won't have any of it.
Bidwell wants to see Hawkeye, the least possible GI of all Army doctors (he is not even housebroken), in action. Bidwell watches as Hawkeye wrestles his patient from the grasp of death (his patient has no pulse, and Hawkeye gives him a shot of adrenaline, then opens up his ribs and gives the soldier an open-heart massage to revive him). Bidwell finds Hawkeye not following military protocols, rude and unpatriotic. Hawkeye tells Bidwell to get out of the way and let the doctors work in OR. Hawkeye calls war worse than hell, as hell only has sinners, while war is full of innocent bystanders such as women, children and so on. Bidwell goes back to report to General Korshak. Potter tells Hawkeye about how Gen Korshak is looking for a personal physician for prestige. He probably heard that another General had a personal physician and wants the best assigned to himself. Potter says Hawkeye was disgraceful in the OR towards Bidwell and buys him a drink as he never wanted to lose him.
A GI returning stateside, Corporal. Mulligan (Larry Wilcox) asks Radar to do him a favor: watch over his girl, Mai Ping... and their baby, Lee Chin. Mai Ping takes care of Radar at her hut. Radar finds he likes being a family man. He steals food from the mess kitchen to provide for Mai and Lee. Radar and Mai are just friends. BJ helps with the regular check-up of the baby. Radar is enjoying his new life when Mulligan comes back (he couldn't leave Seoul without his family), as he loves Mai and Lee, and reclaims his family. Mai gives Radar his teddy bear back as he leaves dejected.
Korshak is not a man who takes "no" for an answer and he tells Potter that he thinks Hawkeye is a pistol. He travels to 4077 MASH personally to meet his new personal physician. Korshak asks Hawkeye to give him a physical, which Hawkeye agrees to. Hawkeye asks Korshak to give up drinking and smoking. He says the general is headed for a stroke within the next 6 months, with his current habits and needs to self-correct before it gets too bad. Hawkeye yells at the general and says he can do more good and save more lives at 4077 than being tied up with him. Korshak backs off when Pierce asks him whether the men come first or not. Frank decides to apply for the job and gets Potter to write him a recommendation letter. Hawkeye and BJ ask to mention Margaret, 27 faints in OR, 12 in Post Op, bubble gum dropped inside a patient. Frank withdraws his application.
