Jackie, a friend from Beaver's old neighborhood, comes for a week-end visit and the excited boys look forward to the fun of playing the same games they used to play years before. But Beaver and Jackie soon find that their interests changed as they each grew older and the week-end doesn't turn out quite like they planned.
The Cleavers are hosting Jackie Waters, Beaver's friend from the old neighborhood, for an overnight visit. Beaver, excited about Jackie's visit, has plans for them to do all the things they used to do together. Upon Jackie's arrival, he is equally as excited to do all those old activities. But as Beaver and Jackie partake in one activity after another, they quickly find that each does not hold the interest they thought it would, and as such, Beaver and Jackie quickly tire of each other's company. So Beaver and Jackie start doing things independent of each other. Ward and June, with Wally's help, try to salvage the togetherness aspect of the weekend for the two boys.
