- The squad investigates a serial rapist targeting women on subways. Meanwhile, Benson begins dating an ambitious crime reporter.
- The episode opens with a woman - Jen Caulder (Nicole Sullivan) wearing a skirt, talking on the cell phone. After she enters a subway train, she is pinned down against the wall of the subway car and raped. The SVU team gets involved and it is soon revealed that seven young women, in a six-month time span, have been raped by a flash-and-dash assailant on the City subways. Interviewing witnesses on the train results in no substantial leads, except that the preps pants were dirty and had splatters of paint on them.
The brass calls in a psychiatrist - Dr Audrey Jackson (Audra McDonald) to help the team get into the head of the prep. A man - Bruce Bohne is apprehended in the subway train after he allegedly attacks another woman. He is arrested but he claims that the train jerked and made him fall on the woman and all this is a mistake. The 7 victims are asked to identify the prep from a lineup and they all fail to identify the perp. SVU decides to indite him on a lesser charge of fondling. Dr Jackson interviews the suspect and suggests that Bruce is NOT the subway rapist and SVU lets him go.
After another rape on the subway occurs, Jeffries and Munch find a parking ticket. When they follow up on the lead, the perp is found at a construction site. Although Jen Caulder positively identifies her rapist the case is dismissed on a technicality as all the victims spoke to each other while waiting for their turn to identify the perp from the line up.
SVU then follows up on driver's license of a woman found in the perps wallet, who could put him away.
