Quotes

[the Trio are clad in Santa outfits, seated in a pub]
Seymour: It's disgusting! What happened to the Christmas spirit?
Clegg: Oh, well, it's us crums.
Seymour: Crums?
Clegg: Christmas Resistance Underground Movement. I've been a crum for years, never realized it, but this morning has really cheered me up. Seems to me there are a lot of us crums about.
Seymour: It's disgusting!
Compo: Landlord, three pints! I'm gonna buy a drink for this here crum.
Clegg: We're just a small, disorganized, peacable mob dedicated to pulling Christmas back down to size....

A leaky Christmas
22 December 2016 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

Unlike the last few specials this one has a festive theme. Compo, Clegg and Seymour are dressed as Santa Clause trying to raise money for charity and Seymour nearly gets run over several times.

Clegg outs himself as as a CRUM. The Christmas Resistance Underground movement and membership seems to be growing. However an impostor Santa comes across their way but her turns out to be Howard. He sends the trio to seek out his auntie Wainwright played by Jean Alexander who runs a second hand emporium selling tat but she manages to sell it to allcomers. Auntie Wainwright would go on to become a regular.

Barry and Glenda want a waterbed to Edie's annoyance and Wesley makes a homemade waterbed which he gets the trio to help transport which bemuses onlookers.

This was better than the previous year's effort, more fun but it still felt padded such as ages spent on auntie Wainwright making weak tea.

There were a few tender moments such as Nora acknowledging Wally's passing to Ivy, he never took up much space, she tells her.

There are a few cameo appearances such as Jim Bowen showing why he should not stick to acting and Yvette Fielding looking spooky in a punk wig.
