- We get an introduction to the Montecito (the casino where the story takes place), to the characters and their relationships, the casino slang (e.g. "whales") and so on.
- Danny McCoy works on the surveillance team of the Montecito casino in Las Vegas. Today isn't particularly a well day for him. He ends up in bed with a girl named Delinda, only to find out she's the daughter of Ed Deline, the boss of the surveillance team after Big Ed catches them both in bed. And he doesn't particularly like what Danny has done. While Danny is already awake for long, Ed now thinks of many things he can still do. He must find a whale, a wealthy guest, who was invited but never showed up in the casino and at the same time take care of a cheater and a smelly guest with bunny shoes, who happens to be winning a lot. Big Ed also wants him to attend meetings of the Deline family.—Arnoud Tiele (imdb@tiele.nl)
- Ex-marine Danny McCoy hoped to meet his potential father in-law under better circumstances than caught in bed with his spoiled-rotten daughter Delinda on Danny's first day on Sir's security team. His 'punishment', is a grueling work load of virtually impossible tasks, simultaneously urgent. Yet Danny soldiers on and prevails by surviving until the cavalry arrives, Delinda's mother, at his first Deline family dinner. Yet Danny's table manners add to his family background handicap, which also emerges in the person of his dad, contractor Larry McCoy, who still claims his heir.—KGF Vissers
