What he did for love
20 January 2018 | by See all my reviews

John Smith and Spring Byington are invited to the wedding of Barton MacLane's daughter Jacqueline Scott to Ron Foster. It's her second marriage, she divorced her first husband outlaw Ed Nelson.

Divorce was pretty rare in those days and no piece of paper is going to say to Nelson she's not his wife any more. He and his outlaw band are going to cancel that wedding any way they can.

Today John Smith would never give the advice he gives Ron Foster about asserting himself. Though what he advised to do was probably needed, the manner would be protested by feminists.

In any event things are settled in the western way and by a higher authority than a divorce court.
