Bob Blayne was a gunman five years ago when Deputy Jess Harper shot and maimed his hand. Blayne's sons, Bill and Larry, believe that Jess has ruined their father's life and want to see him dead. Bill believes he can gun Jess after he shoots down a friend of Jess' and Bill's friends encourage him to try. The problem is Jess Harper refuses to rise to their bait even as everything in him wants to. Bill, Larry and their friends lure Jess into Laramie by badly beating Slim Sherman. Jess takes the bait and ends up killing Bill in fair fight. A grief stricken Larry ambushes Jess but only ends up making Jess mad and breaking his own arm. Bill's friends convince Bob Blayne to let them run Jess out of town. This sets up the final showdown where Bob Blayne and Jess Harper stand against the men who want to kill Jess. Written by DarSpi

Blayne Family Values
13 March 2017 | by See all my reviews

This Laramie story finds Robert Fuller going against the Blayne family whose patriarch John Anderson was crippled in his gun hand by Fuller when he was acting as a deputy some years back. In the old west that's almost like castration so Anderson's got good reason he thinks for wanting Jess Harper's hide.

Which he's passed on to his two sons Paul Comi and Jack Chaplain. But during the course of this episode it's Anderson who rethinks his position because Fuller gives him reason to. The brothers run with a gang of outlaws who among other things rob stagecoach stations like the Sherman station.

I will have to say that Fuller is really pushed here and shows great patience in a trying situation. Nicely done by Anderson and Fuller in this episode.
