The Cady brothers have vowed revenge against the Arapaho woman, Winona, who was acquitted of murdering their brother with Slim on the jury. The two younger brothers Wayne and Lon try to kill her by knocking her out and setting her hut on fire. Sherman Ranch gets caught in the middle when Slim Sherman rescues Winona from certain death in the fire. In return Winona becomes the property of the young rancher, much to his chagrin based on Arapaho law which say a life saved belongs to the one who saved it. Slim tries at first to ignore the custom but when she follows him home, he takes in much to the delight of a tickled Jess. Slim is attracted to the pretty Arapaho, but her heart belongs to another even though she is paying a debt of honor demanded by her tribe. With the Cady's wanting her dead, her presence at the ranch puts Slim and Jess Harper in danger, because the Cady's are out for blood and they don't care who gets in their way.
