Storyline

Outlaw Bob Murkland has teamed up with Dave Boyd who has developed a crude timer to set off dynamite using acid. After seeing it work, they agree to use the device to blow up a stage and rob it. The Bank of Laramie is shipping $50,000 to Denver for redeposit and Jess Harper is riding shotgun on the stage which is their target. Jess has recommended Marshal Jim Tenney and his crew to protect the shipment with him. When the money is stolen, Jess ends up chasing the wounded thief into the hills, where he makes a deal to patch Bob Murkland up in exchange for a share of the money. What Jess doesn't bargain for is Sarah Hodding and her son Peter. Sarah doesn't realize what Peter senses and Jess knows, that Bob Murkland, her fiancé, is a no good thief. What Jess doesn't realize is that Murkland saw him in Laramie with the U.S. Marshal that was escorting the stage, and that fact might get Jess killed. Written by DarSpi

The Professor Invents
7 January 2018 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

When Russell Johnson was on Gilligan's Island as the Professor he was always inventing some kind of contraption to either help the castaways escape or make their life easier on the island. In this Laramie story he's kind of inventive as well.

What he invents is an early timing device to make dynamite explode at a distance or when you want to. But Johnson hasn't anything noble in mind. His aim is to rob a heavily guarded stagecoach while its guards and driver sleep at the relay station at night. He succeeds all too well

The story is how Robert Fuller tracks him down and apprehends him in a mountain cabin where he's taken up with a woman and her son.

Johnson is a whole lot different than he was as a wise if somewhat eccentric professor with the rest of the castaways.
