Bosch struggles to manage all the things he's lost and to keep the darkness at bay, from himself, and from Maddie. The Task Force bears down on two suspects. Acting Captain Grace Billets gets tangled in station politics and petty opposition, no longer everyone's best friend.
When we are watching a ten episode series, we must be patient because there are going to be expository ones. This is pretty much one of those. It takes the death of Eleanor and deals with Harry's reactions and his concern for Maddy. We also have some disruptions in the chief's office (he, of course, has delegated his authority for the time being). Of course, we know that Bosch is stewing, his anger building. There are also a group of bad cops who are using their assumed status to get away with murder. Those who have integrity are vilified. I'm intrigued by the way this show is heading.
