Abby Cunningham
- [first lines]
- Valene Ewing: [re newspaper photograph of J.R. Ewing] I can't even look at him.
- Karen Fairgate: [to Abby] She's not crazy about him.
- Valene Ewing: Well, I've got good cause *not* to be.
- Abby Cunningham: What's he in town for?
- Karen Fairgate: Some oil convention. Actually, I found him rather exciting.
- Abby Cunningham: You met him?
- Karen Fairgate: Last year he was trying to get the offshore drilling rights for this area, but we stopped him.
- Abby Cunningham: [incredulously] You stopped him?
- Karen Fairgate: Yeah. I read the autobiography of Mata Hari and went to his hotel room to see him one afternoon.
- Abby Cunningham: [pretend-shocked] My brother's wife went to a hotel room to see a *man*?
- Karen Fairgate: I found him enormously attractive... and enormously charming.
- [sighs]
- Karen Fairgate: As he got close to me and looked into my eyes...
- [the others hanging on to every word]
- Karen Fairgate: I got out of there enormously fast.
- J.R. Ewing: Down in Dallas we have a special way of dealing with obstreperous children.
- Abby Cunningham: How?
- J.R. Ewing: We barbecue 'em.
- [causes Olivia to rush to sit down at the dining table]
- Abby Cunningham: This is gonna be my first real dinner party.
- J.R. Ewing: Let's just hope it's gonna be one you'll never forget.
- Abby Cunningham: [J.R."s figured her out] I don't want anything for myself.
- J.R. Ewing: Oh, yes, you do. You want my little brother Gary... honey.
- [her eyes glitter at the thought, and he walks away pleased with himself]
- J.R. Ewing: Whoo whee!
- [chuckling]
