Trust Doesn't Rust
1 January 2018 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

It seems to come as a surprise to Michael Knight that Knight Industries created a prototype of KITT. I mean an advanced indestructible car cannot be created on your first attempt.

The prototype K.A.R.R. (Knight Automated Roving Robot) becomes active when two small time hoods break into a disused Knight laboratory and gain access to KARR. The problem with the prototype was that it was not designed to serve its designated driver like KITT was. In fact it was programmed for its own self preservation.

As the evil car with its new hoodlum passengers go on a stealing spree, Michael Knight and KITT have to stop it with just one vulnerability, a laser that has to be fired at a sweet spot on the front grille of KARR.

Character actor William Sanderson (Blade Runner) lends dignity to this silly episode. I mean I am sure it would had been easy to just re-programme the prototype. The episode also sees Michael communication to others through his digital watch. If only Glen Larson trademarked the early version of the Iwatch!
