Storyline

The whole gang is excited when Bobbie gets Joey invited to the Tonight show, and although his anecdotes are all too embarrassing and/or sexually explicit Michael and Gina eagerly drive him, but the highway is bogged down by a car accident. Just before it Gina and Joey's insistence made Michael give the finger, a life-first for the only polite Tribbiani, to a pair of beefy men who now stand just next to them, with a numberplate 'judoman'... Joey desperately fails to find alternative transport after Bobbie warns his spot and any chance of another invitation are lost if he's late, Gina flirts with every driver in the queue who has something like air conditioning in his car, or is just as hunky as Kyle. Alex comes trough with a motorcycle, so Joey gets his minutes of fame on national TV, but not quite how show host Jay Leno expected... Written by KGF Vissers

Gina: You know what, it's crazy, but maybe we can get one of the news helicopters to come down and pick you up.
Joey: That's great! Okay, we just gotta get their attention. Uh, Ooh! Let's lie on the pavement and use our bodies to spell out 'Joey Tribbiani needs to get to the Tonight Show fast!'

"That's Judo Man"
30 November 2017 | by studioATSee all my reviews

This is a thinner episode from 'Joey' series 1, that sees our hero all set to appear on 'The Tonight Show', but getting stuck in traffic in the process.

I can't deny though that there were some good moments along the way, and agree with the previous reviewer that Drea De Matteo shone as Gina.

However, much like the episode where they went to Vegas it seems to run out of steam at the end, with a rather daft finale.

I think 'Joey' as a show in general gets a lot of stick, but it was a far better show than people make it out to be, and this episode is proof.
