Bud receives a promotion from lieutenant (junior grade) to full lieutenant; then Bud Sr. enters in uniform, announces that the Navy has recalled him to active duty to try him at a court-martial (for larceny and wrongful disposition of government property), and he asks Bud to defend him. Harm prosecutes, Bud defends, and Bud Sr. assaults and batters a government witness. Bud proves to be a vigorous and aggressive adversary at trial. Bud and Harriet throw a wetdown party at Murphy's Tavern. Continuing to look after Dar-lin, LCdr. Jordi Parker takes her to the JAG office, and Dar-lin identifies the bad guy from some mug shots; the NCIS people find his fingerprints at Grandma's house. Written by DocRushing
The Roberts family comes together with Bud's promotion to Lieutenant. Bud eventually is able to defend his father (who had been brought back into USN service to address accusations of theft around 1995, in this Season four episode from 1999). Mikey Roberts also appears, working his way onto a ship post-bootcamp.
The "Annie Lewis" case moves forward and Harriet discussed the case with Harm.
Also in discussion (at Bud's wet-down) is the topic of Harmon Rabb jr. Carolyn Imes is sharing a table with Jordy Parker and mac. Carolyn's curiosity overspills, so she asks Jordy (who initially mis-reads the question before realising Carolyn's true intent) and also asks Mac, on the principle that Mac and Harm have indulged in passions during their three years together
Mac fends off Carolyn's question (I'm not going to use the brother-sister analogy") only for Jordy to lay it on the line with "I'm happy with him until you want him". Jordy (psychiatrist) has realised what Mac and Harm apparently cannot see (mind you, the UST ran on for another six seasons after this!).
Finally, Harm (courtesy of NCIS) has an ID for the Annie Lewis killer - see later episodes in this series. Bud proves just how good his teacher was, when he wins his case against Harm's prosecution.
