    particularly impressive episode

In this episode, the aliens are creating hurricanes with a device that bares a remarkable resemblance to a US weapons program known as HAARP. It is the realization of Nichola Tesla's 1918 theory that with a given type of antenna array, the magnetosphere can be manipulated to do many things, including creating earthquakes and hurricanes. The current US antenna array in Alaska is more than 10 square acres in area and enlists some thirty separate antennae, each with massive individual power generators, to focus to a solid beam. In "Storm", the aliens are firing it from a fishing boat. This technology, either researched, or not, before they decided to write it into the script, was 30 years ahead of its time. This cutting-edge technology speculation far before its time, which was routinely used throughout the entire gamut of episodes, makes The Invaders the top notch series that it was, and still is. The special effects in this series were nothing less than spectacular. Some of the techniques were directly gleaned from "The Outer Limits" - but in color! - and in this episode, they really pour it on - especially when the antenna is firing.

Once again, those aliens are real no-goodnicks!

This episode of "The Invaders" is set in Florida, in the Tampa area. While hurricanes and tropical storms are not too uncommon there, they've been particularly bad recently. Why? Because the aliens have created a machine that can control the weather and make violent storms...presumably to allow the aliens to kill of humans! The worst part about this is the cynical aliens are using a local church as their base of operations!

This is, once again, a very good episode. It sure helped that Joseph Campanella was the guest star, as I always liked his good, solid acting...and here he doesn't disappoint. Well worth seeing...and most importantly, rather disturbing!

    Neat effects, slowly paced

This episode features more effects than most, kind of cool, and some sound effects we haven't heard before. However, it is slowly paced, including a long, slow motion sequence that is ostensibly to build suspense, but more obviously there to pad the less-eventful-than-usual script. It's not a bad episode, just not on par with most. This episode features more effects than most, kind of cool, and some sound effects we haven't heard before. However, it is slowly paced, including a long, slow motion sequence that is ostensibly to build suspense, but more obviously there to pad the less-eventful-than-usual script.

    • Goofs
In the first scene, with the lead David Vincent, we see a guy in the hotel lobby, a guy with a "normal" hand, with his fingers like yours and mine - for those who perfectly know the series, they'll know what I mean by that - and in the sequence afterwards, just a few seconds, the guy in question suddenly shows an "invaders's hand", with his little finger stiff - those same who know the series will also know what I mean.

Narrator: [Opening Narration] In the nightmare world in which David Vincent moves, there is seldom reason or logic. And so a hurricane that occurs out of season, that blankets a 600-mile area yet spares a single town - such a storm becomes part of that nightmare world and prompts a phone call to a meteorologist named Gantley and brings Vincent to a fishing town near the Florida Keys.
