First appearance of the Hulk making his escape by breaking through a wall and running down an alley (wearing blue pants). This scene was re-used many times over the course of the series.
This episode is heavily influenced by the film "Rocky." Paul Micale, who plays the unnamed man in the audience who sits next to McGee during the fight at the episode's conclusion, played Father Carmine in several of the Rocky films. Interestingly, it was an 'accidental' reference to the Rocky series as he would not actually appear until the following year in Rocky II (1979)
Tony Brubaker plays Bill Cole, who fights Rocky (Martin Kove), based on Sylvester Stallone's Rocky. In Rocky III, Brubaker played one of Rocky's challengers in the opening montage.
Martin Kove as Rocky says he has a shot "to be a contender," homage to the Marlon Brando boxing classic On The Waterfront.
Martin Kove, who plays the boxer, Rocky, inspired by the blockbuster starring Sylvester Stallone, co-starred with Stallone in Death Race 2000 before Rocky and then played a villain in Rambo after.
