    Storyline

    Edit
Ted Dalton brings in his domineering wife Margo, a hyperactive entrepreneur and housewife committed to a demanding fertility treatment, with uncontrollable spasms. In order to complete the diagnosis and save her life, he must face a secret she holds dearer than life. Meanwhile he forces Cameron to face her HIV test. After an affair with the hospital lawyer, Stacy Warner, they could have a future together. This can only happen if she divorces her husband Mark, who is in a wheelchair but knows about their adultery and desperately wants her back. —KGF Vissers

    Edit
    • Trivia
The doctors give Margo Vecuronium to stop her flailing. The only problem with the way it is depicted is that, since Vecuronium is a paralytic, Margo would need to be on ventilation for the duration of time it was in effect for the simple reason that she would also be unable to breathe.
    • Goofs
During the seizure at the beginning of the episode, when the husband opens the car door, you can see the reflection of a camera man with a baseball cap on the side of the car, looking through his eyepiece, as well as someone leaning behind him.
    • Quotes

      [last lines]

Dr. James Wilson: You don't like yourself. But you do admire yourself. It's all you've got so you cling to it. You're so afraid if you change, you'll lose what makes you special.

      [pause]

Dr. James Wilson: Being miserable doesn't make you better than anybody else, House. It just makes you miserable.

[Wilson and House look at each other. Wilson exits]

    How deceitful
Julie (DOC Hollywood) Warner adds some real class to an episode that has more than its share of bizarre occurrences. The episode's title NEED TO KNOW fits more than just Warner as a so-called supermom who has built up a wall of lies the team must break through in order to save her from herself. It also refers to Cameron's hesitancy to take her HIV test as the result of a mishap in the AIDS patient episode. House really lets his temper fly with Warner, in a manner we haven't seen pretty much since the pilot episode, when he locked horns with another terrific actress, Robin (THE CRAFT) Tunney. Hugh Laurie, himself a movie actor, often seems to play best against fellow movie performers.
