Cousin Raymond says the last time he saw Thelma she was wearing diapers, yet he gives her a dress as a gift without knowing how tall she is, her weight or size. The dress fits her perfectly when she wears it out for dinner later that evening.

Thelma Evans Anderson: [about the new apartment Raymond leased for the family] When we walk in the lobby, we'll be stepping on fresh carpet instead of *Ned the Wino"

Keith Anderson: And when we're in the elevator, we'll see Lake Michigan instead of "for a good time, call Roxanne."

    Calvin Lockhart as Cousin Raymond
"Cousin Raymond" was another remake of an earlier episode, in this case "The Houseguest," again involving someone close to the Evans family hiding a terrible secret. Calvin Lockhart guest stars as Florida's wealthy cousin Raymond Brown, who had been raised by Florida single handed after his mother died. Raymond bears expensive gifts for everybody, his fortune made in good investments. Dinner at a Japanese restaurant ends with Florida learning where Raymond makes his money, gambling at the race track. His ultimate gift to her family is $10,000 and a 3 bedroom apartment, but practically overnight he loses his $80,000 fortune and is forced to start over. It concludes with Raymond repeating the same mistake that Thalmus Rasulala did in the original episode.
