Storyline

Uncle Phil gives Will one simple task: Take Ashley and her friends to their violin lesson, sit, wait, and bring her home again. However, during class, Ashley confesses that she doesn't like the violin, so Will takes her to a pawn shop in East L.A. and swaps it out for a set of drums. As expected, Uncle Phil is furious, but Aunt Viv reasons that he should let her play whatever instruments she wants to play. On top of changing instruments, Will also brings in his buddy Jazz as a new music teacher. Then Will is disappointed when Ashley admits that she doesn't like the drums. Then Aunt Viv is disappointed when Ashley admits that she doesn't like ballet either. She just never told anyone because she didn't want to disappoint them. The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Airr

Bang The Drum, Ashley

The origin of Will Smith's fame and too many mentions from The Graham Norton Show got me to binge watch this series which I think has a potential to be a typical one-time-watch sitcom. The creators made the relations pretty much clear from the first frame now all one seek and wait for is their character development through this journey with hopefully no dips on content or humor. The relation between Will Smith and Tatyana Ali seems interesting (something to look forward especially when she grows up) and is definitely supposed to bring the laughs whilst with James Avery there is a soft spot hidden in there.

As often happens, the first season is good and demands attention from the viewers wanting them more of the family drama which writers better deliver if not all of it but some of it (its diplomatic to keep big guns for the future) and would be wise of them if they keep an open-end on some tracks to pick up swiftly on season 2.

Not often happens, that the second episode of either the series or season fulfills the expectation (it doesn't exceed the first one but its eerie for the second one to not disappoint) but in here it is satisfying and as predicted earlier too the creators are fond of music and definitely relies their humor upon it.
