Trivia

John Lithgow, who provides a voice cameo for this episode, was the producers' first choice to play Frasier Crane when the character debuted in Cheers (1982). Lithgow declined the role because of a time conflict. See more »

Goofs

Kari's voice over the phone is quite different than when she speaks at the end of the episode. Another voice actor for Kari is not listed, however, the actress portraying her in the final scene had a more mature, giggly, slightly old fashioned New York accent, compared to the smoother, more youthful voice on the phone. Quotes

Bulldog Briscoe: And who's this lovely lady?
Cindy Carruthers: Cindy Carruthers.
Frasier: Careful, she has a concealed weapon.
Bulldog Briscoe: Ha! Makes two of us.
[laughs]
Martin Crane: He's not kidding. She's his body guard.
Bulldog Briscoe: Hey, how would you like to check out a body worth guarding?
Cindy Carruthers: [grabbing him by the throat] If I move my thumb a quarter of an inch, I could kill you.
Bulldog Briscoe: Whoa! I've never been so turned on in my life.

My Bodyguard
30 September 2019 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

Frasier believes he is being stalked by an adoring fan. She calls every day, sends him gifts, makes somewhat threatening statements, etc. Meanwhile, he is heading for a banquet where he and Roz have been nominated for a Seattle Broadcasting award. He feels it necessary to hire a bodyguard. It all sort of fizzles at the end.
