Trivia

Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) paraphrases George Bernard Shaw as saying "in this world there are only two tragedies. One is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it." Kate Costas (Mercedes Ruehl) says this quote is by Oscar Wilde. She is correct. See more »

Goofs

Bulldog cowers in an unused office to avoid bumping into Kate. It was four o'clock in the morning, and Kate was at the station to meet with Frasier and Roz, but what reason could Bulldog have had for being at the station at that hour? Obviously Kate had moved his time slot, too. See more »

Quotes

Martin Crane: You bought a starter's pistol?
Dr. Niles Crane: Yes. You see, as long as Maris thinks it's real, it makes her feel secure, but this way no one can get hurt.
[Niles accidentally fires the pistol and jumps on Frasier's couch in fright]
Frasier: [running in from his bedroom] What the hell was that? Was that a gunshot?
Dr. Niles Crane: [casually] Morning, Frasier. Just getting up?
Frasier: Just getting up? Are you out of your mind? A gun just went off in here!
Martin Crane: [trying to placate Frasier] Niles bought a starter's pistol.
Dr. Niles Crane: And there's no need to get snippy...

A decent start to series 3
26 September 2017 | by studioATSee all my reviews

The first episode of the third series of 'Frasier' introduces the new station manager, Kate Costas, and Frasier instantly gets put in his place at meeting a woman who can stand up to him.

I'm not that mad about the Kate Costas character, I hope she doesn't stay long, but it was nice to see Frasier knocked down a peg or two.

It was a shame the rest of the cast (Martin/Niles/Daphne) were a bit underused, but it was great to see Roz being much more central.

A decent start to series three.
