This features Kelsey Grammer at his best, the frenetic Frasier who is selfish, intolerant, and outrageous. When Frasier becomes ill, he is pushed out of his studio and Niles takes over (he is quite good). When Frasier hears him, the paranoia begins to ramp up. He believes he will be replaces like some woman was some time in the past. He has the flu but has Daphne pick up some pretty harsh prescriptions, which, as a psychiatrist, he can write. This leads to an amazing scene back in the studio.

Warning: Spoilers
In the beginning scene Frazier is at his radio booth and is talking to Roz, and begins to start coughing while he is doing his radio show. He continues to cough and then head home. Then a few scenes later he admits he is sick. His brother Niles comes in and takes over his show and tries to outdo his brother. Frasier gets annoyed and tries to go into his show while he is sick and intoxicated with medicine. This episode is really funny, and I really love this show. It has its Bad episodes and good ones. But this one is my favorite

Frasier Crane's Day Off

I'm never really a fan of episodes where Frasier Crane acts like a big baby, and this is one such episode. Kelsey Grammer plays it well, but although this episode had some nice moments, it wouldn't be one that I would either particularly rank highly in terms of the first series, or rush to watch again next time I went through the episodes.
If anything David Hyde Pierce is the funnier Crane brother here, and what a revelation he was as the first series went along. It was so clever on the creative team's part by still giving us a variation on the Frasier Crane character we liked on 'Cheers', while also developing the lead.
A mixed episode.
