Did You Know?
Trivia | Inara asks whether a carved wooden statuette in a trading post is supposed to be a duck, and Kaylee replies that it's a swan. There is a Chinese proverb that says, "A badly painted tiger looks like a dog; a badly carved swan looks like a duck." (The meaning of the proverb is that it's better not to do certain things than to do them badly.) See more » |
Goofs | The empty cargo bay with neat little piles of cow manure, despite a herd milling around in there for days, is highly suspect. Also, one of the cows kicks a cow patty as they exit, revealing it as a solid prop instead of mushy. See more » |

Quotes |
River:
[to the cows, who stare at her with big eyes]
Little soul, big world. Eat, sleep, and eat. Many souls. Mal: Cattle on the ship three weeks, she don't go near 'em. Suddenly we're on Jianying, and she's got a driving need to commune with the beasts? River: They weren't cows inside. They were waiting to be, but they forgot. Now they see sky, and they remember what they are. Mal: Is it bad that what she said made perfect sense to me? See more » |
