Series two opens up with a classic episode, Hell is one of the most hilarious, laugh out loud episodes of the show, it doesn't let up for a minute.
Graham Norton was a superb piece of casting, if anyone could play an infuriating, annoying little twerp, it was Norton, even Ted wanted to get away from him. Not the last we'd see of him.
Jack as always provides moments of hilarity, great to see his dream come true. It's the exploits of Ted and the naked man that cause the major laughs, painfully funny.
Perfect, 10/10.

Hell, the first episode of the second Series of the hit Irish TV Show Father Ted, is the funniest thing ever made. I could stop there, but there are so many moments that make this episode truly classic; the Priests continually metting the young couple embrassingly, Father Jack's rant about feet and cake, our first introduction to Father Larry Duff, Tom driving the Seweage Truck, Father Noel Furlongs youth group... the list goes on, every moment is Comedy gold. It's also the series's most quotable episode: "Small, far away" has gone down in history as one of the shows defining lines, and "Are those my feet" is a truly gut-busyingly hilarious moment. Overall, my favourite episode of the series and comedy at its peak.
Best Momment: Noel Furlong and the Youthclub Irish Dancing, Father Larry Duff crashing his car, Father Jack's box... its impossible to chose. Best Quote: "Are those my feet!" Placement in Father Ted rank: #1 Final Rating: 10/10

- TriviaThe writers based the episode on their own childhood experiences. The caravan park was based on Graham Linehan's memories of being taken on two-week-long holidays to grim caravan parks where it would always rain and there would be a plentiful supply of children to bully him. He would describe it as a "holiday in Hell", hence the episode's title. The unusual attractions such as the Magic Road were based on real-life locations Arthur Mathews had visited.
- GoofsWhen Ted mistakes the mobile home for the "caravan" they were supposed to occupy, he is confronted by a man who clearly stepped from the shower- as he is toweling himself off. If the mobile home is equipped with a functioning bathroom, why is the wife using the campground toilet later in the episode?
- Quotes
Father Dougal McGuire: That's nearly as mad as that thing you told me about the loaves and the fishes.
- Crazy creditsThe copyright year at the end is misprinted as MXMXCVI instead of MCMXCVI for the first six episodes of the second season.
