Very funny, smart monkey, tender story
1 June 2014 | by ctyankee1See all my reviews

This is the story of a monkey named Diogenes who is in a zoo that Father Dowling and Sister Steve go visit and take kids to. Diogenes is very friendly and loving and Sister has a long friendship with him and trust him.

A zoo worker named Amos is found dead in the area where Diogenes is at and a a needle with some sort of tranquilizer meds is empty and found near Amos body.

Diogenes is blamed for killing this man and is taken away and put in a cage. This part of the story is not explained to me enough how the man died. If he was attacked by the monkey there is no reference to him having bruises or bite marks or anything else. The cops never say what the cause of death is only that the monkey killed him.

Sister sneaks into the zoo late at night to rescue Diogenes who is going to killed by the zoo keepers. She takes Diogenes to her bedroom in Father Dowlings home (which is also unusual I thought she lived at the nunnery). The monkey is so cute, sits on the bed and draws on paper. He later gets out of the room goes down stairs and lays on the couch with such a cute demeanor.

There are funny scenes in this episode with the monkey. He copies what humans do. Marie takes a bowl of eggs out of the frig and puts them on the table. She does not know about the monkey. Diogenes takes the bowl brings it into the dining room and lines up the raw eggs on the table. Marie gets more eggs out and when she sees the monkey take the eggs she throw the bowl down and so does the monkey with the eggs he has. Some nice scenes with other animals at the zoo too.

Father and Sister do not believe Diogenes is a killer so they are out to find who wanted Amos dead.

Father Philip is afraid of everything and his fears add more fun to the episode.

At the end you find out what is going on at the zoo. The series is on Youtube. Watch it. Download it with Firefox.
