Timmy eagerly wishes for a ham-and-cheese omelette but Cosmo and Wanda are unable to give him one. Per the rules, they can't serve breakfast wishes after 10:30am. Upset that he has to have rules with his wishes, Timmy stops by a garage sale, and finds a magic lava lamp, with a genie inside.
Once freed, the genie named Norm, attempts to get Timmy to make wishes. However, Timmy claims that he has no need for a genie because of his fairy godparents. It is then that Norm tells that unlike the godparents, his wishes are rule-free. Timmy eagerly wishes for his ham-and-cheese omelette, and gets it...piping hot in his hands, causing him to burn them. Wanda explains that that is the problem with genie wishes: unless you're super-specific, they can be altered.
Timmy still doesn't take her advice, and wishes that Trixie Tang would love only Timmy Turner. Timmy thinks this will work, until every other person named Timmy Turner shows up, and Trixie kisses them.
Timmy then demands Norm return to his lamp, but Norm won't until Timmy uses up his last wish. With some cajoling, Timmy wishes his Dad had a billion dollars, leading to Timmy's Dad being arrested.
With the wishes spent, Cosmo and Wanda end up being sucked into the lamp. Norm claims that the closest magical beings will be sucked into the lamp, and the genie then heads off to destroy Canada.
However, Timmy vacuums up Norm, and torments him until he gives Timmy three more wishes. This time, Timmy wishes for a lawyer, who manages to make sure that Timmy's new wishes will not backfire.
Timmy undoes all his previous wishes, freeing his Dad, making Trixie normal, and freeing Cosmo and Wanda.
Norm is then trapped back in the lamp, but vows to escape and get his revenge on Timmy. It looks like freedom may be at hand when Mr Crocker finds the lamp. However, he chooses not to rub it, and sends it to his uncle in Canada.
Norm thinks he'll be free to finally destroy Canada, but it turns out Crocker's uncle is in an asylum, arms tied in a straight-jacket.
*Back to the Norm*
Denzel Crocker receives the magic lamp that he sent to his Uncle in Canada, and rubs it, freeing Norm the Genie. When Norm realizes that Crocker has a vendetta against Timmy Turner as well, he is more than happy to help.
Norm also reveals that even though he gives 3 wishes, the master of the lamp can keep wishing for more wishes. Crocker takes this to heart, and wishes for elaborate items to concoct his schemes, along with wishing for wishes.
Each of Crocker's plans keeps failing, and Norm keeps suggesting obvious ways to dispose of Timmy, which Crocker keeps dismissing.
Finally, Norm loses it when he finds that Crocker is willing to run through his entire list of plans. Norm presents himself to Timmy, and gives him the lamp, to give him three wishes, mainly to get back at Crocker.
In the end, Timmy wishes Crocker to Mars, where Norm gloats in how this would have been the easiest way to dispose of Timmy.
