- A sick lady with a monkey provides the key to a mysterious, highly contagious, and deadly virus that strikes both Dr. Brackett and John Gage. Meanwhile, the firemen rescue a boy from a treehouse and a man from a scaffold.
- A woman returning from Asia with a monkey also brought back a highly contagious virus that kills a fireman and sickens Dr. Brackett, later John during a rescue of a man having a heart attack on a scaffold, but the woman is not as sickened and her travelling partner appears to have immunity to the disease. As two professionals are fighting, Dixie talks to the wife, whose husband is (of course) dying. While Dixie, Dr. Early and Roy treat John, Nurse Walters and Dr. Early treat Dr. Brackett; who heard they found the solution to the virus. The firemen also rescue a boy from a treehouse.—Gary Richard Collins II (brothergaryii@gmail.com)
- A USO dancer recently returned from a tour in SE Asia, Jenny Hollister (Cathy-Lee Crosby) seems to have 2 souvenirs from her travels: Kokie, her pet monkey from Kuala Lumpur, and a fever of 105 degrees. Roy and Johnny respond, together with a fellow firefighter, Tim Duntley. Dr. Brackett cautions them to limit exposure to Jenny. Station 51 responds to a call for Mickey Brydon, a 14-year old boy suffering with Meniere's Disease. Soon, Tim Duntley is brought in with high fever. Dr. Brackett is frustrated with their lab and the USC and CDC labs when no one can identify the virus. Kel asks their resident, Dr. Mike Morton to collect Kokie; Mike jokes with Roy and Johnny that "his people" (blacks) are not as susceptible to viral infections. Dr. Joe Early and Dixie are cautious; Kel wants to be aggressive and administer Idoxuridine. Kel collapses with a burning fever in the coffee room, and Johnny soon slips off a scaffold during a rescue; there seems to be a full-scale epidemic. Then, there is a death from the virus. Jenny is getting better but she is still sick; others are dying, getting hotter and sicker. It is obvious an antibody is needed but Jenny cannot provide it. Is it curtains for poor Kokie? Luckily, Nurse Sally Lewis (Deidre Hall) and Nurse Sharon Walters (Patricia Mickey) are at Rampart to help solve the "Kokie Fever Virus" puzzle.—LA-Lawyer
