Storyline

John's policeman friend is injured and later dies from a car accident; the delay in treatment due to another Squad tying up the bio phone frequency with a heart case leads Roy to speculate if the delay may make a difference later. The doctors treat a child who turns out to be drunk. Thanks to Dr. Brackett and Dixie, Johnny and Roy assist in treating opposing members of a bike gang after a bloody rumble, and it spills over into the ER. When Johnny's policeman friend is injured in a car crash, the paramedics can't reach the hospital because another squad is using the biophone. Other rescues include a man that welded himself inside his own kinetic art sculpture, and a father and son trapped in a building collapse at a construction site. Trivia

When all of the paramedics are having the meeting with Doctor Brackett at Rampart, they refer to the base station at Harbor General Hospital. Actually, Harbor General ( now Harbor UCLA Medical Center) is shown on screen every time the squad pulls into Rampart. See more »

Goofs

When Johnny and Roy are working on the squad in the opening sequence, Boot comes over, grabs the screwdriver and takes off. Johnny reaches for the screwdriver, and when he can't find it asks Roy where it is. They then notice Boot holding the screwdriver in his teeth and go after him. Just then they get a call and leave the station in the squad. Johnny never fixed what he was working on before they left on their run. See more »
