Mark and Steve meet their neighbor Randy Wolfe (an attractive, personable woman who enjoys beefing up her resume with mail-order University Degrees, and bores quickly of regular jobs) at a restaurant where she's fired for accidentally dumping soup in their laps. Randy gives them each one of her "Jack of All Trades" business cards, but it's Steve and Mark she runs to after finding a dead mime on her bed. By the time they return to the scene, the corpse is gone. Realizing that the number 9 of her four digit house number was loose, and appeared as a 6, she barges in on that neighbours' owner and finds nothing. Things start to get really convoluted when the dead mime washes up on shore the next morning, and Randy goes into Detective mode with Steves' stolen badge - and before you know it, the whole gang (Jesse, Amanda, Mark and Steve) are caught up in a tangled web of Law Enforcement Agencies and stolen (high end) car parts.....and the mystery behind the murder of the mime is in there ... One of the worst episodes
24 February 2017 | by pagegoodmanSee all my reviews

This is one of the worst episodes of "Diagnosis Murder." It was a pilot that was never turned into a series and with good reason. It was over- acted to the point of insanity. The lead girl has no redeeming qualities. She comes off as mean and ditzy, a weird and hideous combination. I disliked almost all of the pilots they subjected "Diagnosis Murder" viewers to, except the one with Delta Burke. But this one stands out as cringe-worthy. I suppose they were going for campy, but even that has to be done with decent acting and some finesse. This episode had neither.
