Sid Lowe rules an entire London region with an iron fist. When one of Makepeace's informants, Wee Jock gets beat up by Lowe's men, for once it is Dempsey who is the more reasonable one and has to restrain his partner.

Sid Lowe runs a protection racket that maims and even kills to keep people in line. When he dares to kill a man under arrest by Dempsey and Makepeace, she enlists a long-time acquaintance, Wee Jock. Glynis Barber and Angela Bruce had or would play principal Blake's 7 characters as Barber played Soolin in the fourth and final season of Blake's 7 while Bruce played Dayna in two radio plays in 1998 and 1999 respectively.

While Dayna and Soolin had fought together as rebels, Bruce and Barber had never appeared together in Blake's 7. In the TV series, Soolin played Barber and Dayna was played by Josette Simon and neither reprised their character in the said radio plays where they were replaced by Paula Wilcox and Bruce respectively. Dempsey: I will when I see some sense in your eyes. You're brian's falling out over some punk kid, who got beat up.
Makepeace: [shouting] He's not some punk kid!
Dempsey: Oh, then what is he? Are you emotionally involved with him?
Makepeace: I'm not emotionally involved!
Dempsey: Then what? Tell me!
Makepeace: He is a human being!
Dempsey: Well what was Sims, a chicken? Huh? I didn't see you grab for the pasta when he got shot.
