    • Trivia
Franklyn "Buckskin Frank" Leslie (1842-after 1920) was a US Army scout, gambler, bartender, rancher, miner, gunfighter, and con-man who arrived in Tombstone in February 1880. Shortly after arriving, he got a job tending bar at the Oriental Saloon, owned by Wyatt and Virgil Earp. He was attracted to Mary Jane "May" Evans (1856-1947), a chambermaid at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, and attended her wedding to Mike Killeen on 13 Apr. On 22 Jun, Mike saw Frank with his arm around May as they sat on the front porch of the Cosmopolitan Hotel and shot twice, grazing Frank's head. Mike began clubbing Frank with his revolver when Frank's friend George Perrine shot and mortally wounded Mike; he died on June 28. Frank and May married eight days later, on 5 Jul 1880; they were divorced on 3 Jun 1887.
