The Battle of the Alamo took place in San Antonio, Texas, 23 Feb-6 Mar 1836. The Mexican army was defeated in the 18-minute Battle of San Jacinto on 21 Apr 1836; 650 Mexicans were killed and 300 were captured. On 22 Apr 1836, Texian soldier James Austin Sylvester (1807-1882) was in charge of a group who captured General Santa Anna (1794-1876), who was wearing a private's uniform and hiding in grass. Santa Anna rode into General Sam Houston's (1793-1863) camp, riding double with Joel Walter Robison (1815-1889). Robison had fought in the Texas Revolution since 1835; Houston promoted him to first lieutenant in the Texas Rangers in December 1836.

    yet another lie
After 11 seasons the writers were really searching for relevant material and apparently settled on this alamo tale ... how it relates to death valley is anyone's guess other than it happened in the same century ...
