MCU faces an armed robbery that turns into a hostage situation. Holman is caught, but overly ambitious Federal prosecutor Harry Breitel asks him to testify against Luca's crew as well as Torello's team.

Joey Indelli is wracked by guilt after a well-armed robber he chases takes a woman off the street hostage. Lt. Torrello leaves the pursuit when Danny Krychek & Nate Grossman at last track down Frank Holman, who's running a diner in Cleveland. Holman's ploy to save himself from the Novak murder charge by incriminating Torrello, who once posed as the corrupt "Sgt Collins" to Holman, is dismissed by the Cleveland U.S. Attorney but is just what ambitious Federal prosecutor Harry Breitel, in Chicago, is looking for. Before Holman can be arraigned, Breitel spirits him away to get him to incriminate Manny Weisbord, Phil Bartoli, Ray Luca & Mike Torrello. Distracted by the hostage standoff, the MCU is once again diverted from its pursuit of Ray Luca.
