He tends to the woman Irene Travers who is not severely harmed. Army officers including Maj. Marcus Reno appear complaining about the attack by the Sioux. Irene is a close friend of Reno but she is fascinated with Cheyenne creating a tense situation with Reno. Cheyenne tells the officers that the Indians are not to blame showing them the bodies with wigs. At Fort A. Lincoln Cheyenne reports to Custer who tells him they are going to lead an expedition into the Sioux's Black Hills to look for a potential location for an Army fort.
