The glass portion of the test equipment that was broken after the robot passed by it in Harlan's garage is intact when Poncherello is talking to Harlan a few minutes later.
After Poncherelo cuts the power supply wires, the robot's video screen is still illuminated as 00 seconds. After the camera angle changes, the screen is blank. In addition, the robot's head was turned 90° after its power was disconnected.
In the initial reckless driver call, Poncherello and Nelson go from a crowded freeway to an empty road in the following scene.
The fire trucks responding to the hospital involve three different fire engines although all are supposed to be the same one. Both LA County and LA City fire engines are shown, only one of the agencies would have responded.
In the initial crash, there are the blue van, two blue cars, a yellow car, a blue tractor-trailer, the brown Camaro, and Poncherello and Nelson going in one direction, and a beige car going in the opposite direction. There is no traffic visible behind Poncherello and Nelson. The van runs off the road, the second blue car and yellow car go up and over the first blue car, and the tractor-trailer and beige car spin out and stop. In a following scene, the tractor-trailer disappears and the beige car that was going the other way is now behind the first blue car, spins out again, and runs into it.
Once again, Bruce, still a cadet, would not be assigned motorcycle duty and would not have been permitted to pursue and arrest any criminals. On top of that, he would not have been permitted to carry a firearm.
CHP dispatch advises the Angels are reporting a 502-Drunk Driver. 502 is the old Penal Code section and was not used at this time. For this time period it would have been 23102 of the Vehicle Code.
The malfunctioning robot does not affect Harlan's test equipment until after it has passed the equipment. It would have affected the meters prior to passing as well as while it was directly in front of the equipment. This error is repeated in a subsequent scene with Jenny's computer, which shorts out after the robot was well past it.
Bruce Nelson undertakes a solo pursuit, which since he is not a sworn officer is against the law as well as CHP policy.
Again, the use of a CHP cadet in the field prior to Academy graduation is incorrect. The robot scans his hand and says he is assigned to Central for advanced field training. Even if this were so, a large station such as Central would have more than one cadet assigned.
In the initial crash, the blue car can be seen towing the ramp used to launch the two cars behind it. This same car was used as a ramp vehicle several times.
When the two girls on motorcycles pull alongside the van, it is clear they are on a filming trailer as neither motorcycle is wavering at freeway speed.
In the break room, the robot generates enough heat to boil a soft drink and break the bottle across a table, yet no one standing closer than the bottle notices the heat.
In the drunk driver on the freeway call, Poncherello and Nelson have a blue Mazda RX-7 with custom wheels stopped. In the following scene, the angels pass this same car, indicating it was used for both shots even though they were supposed to be miles apart. Additionally, there is no traffic on the opposite side of the freeway, indicating this was a closed down section used for filming.
As with one of the crashes in _"CHiPs" (1977) {Fallout (#6.10)}_, in the initial crash, the head-on crash with the green sedan and orange station wagon involved cars that were not on the road prior to the crash. This was prior footage edited in for greater effect. Similar orange and green vehicles were later shown as a CHP car arrived, yet neither had the same amount of damage from the head-on collision and both were facing the opposite direction from the prior scene.
When Poncherello and Nelson ride up to the hospital, their sirens are heard but their red lights are not flashing.
Bruce Nelson is shown giving Harlan books he had sneaked away with from the police academy. The CHP Academy at the time was in Sacremento, about 6 hours away from Los Angeles.
The thieves take the time to wear masks but do not wear gloves when assaulting Emily and vandalizing her building.
At the initial crash, Bobby Nelson while using the radio again failed to use proper CHP dispatch codes for crashes, ambulances, fire engines, and tow trucks, instead he used plain English.
Prior to their response to the freeway angels building, the officers would have called local law enforcement, which would have been closer. Poncherello mentions later he is calling the LAPD after the arrests were made. This error is repeated when Getraer calls them to go to the hospital due to the robot. Hospital security and/or local law enforcement would have been called due to their proximity.
The officers are shown dismantling the power supply still wearing loaded firearms and carrying ammunition. The protocol for being near any type of x-ray machine is to remove any such items so as to avoid injury in the event of a discharge. Additionally, the heat as shown would have caused the ammunition to explode long before they donned protective lead aprons.
Getraer says there are 6 wires to be cut in order to neutralize the robot. Poncherello is heard cutting at least 10 wires.
