Trivia

At the very beginning of the episode when Giles and the Scoobies are walking in the graveyard, there's a gravestone clearly marked "Snyder", a reference to Principal Snyder, played by Armin Shimerman, who was a major character in the high school years. See more »

Goofs

As Buffy, Principal Wood, and Spike leave the restaurant in Wood's car, Wood eyes Spike sitting in the back seat suspiciously in the rear view mirror. Spike is a vampire, he would cast no reflection in the mirror that Wood is looking into. Additionally, later in the episode Wood is surprised to learn that Spike is a vampire. This would not be the case if Wood couldn't see him in his rear view mirror. See more »

Quotes

Willow: It's a text message. Oh, it's from Xander. It's one of our signals.
Amanda: Signals?
Willow: Yeah, the system we set up a while back. Like codes. Uh, this one's either "I just got lucky, don't call me for a while" or "my date's a demon who's trying to kill me."
Kennedy: You don't remember which?
Willow: It was a long time ago.
Dawn: Well, if we play the percentages...
Giles: Something's eating Xander's head.
Anya: Say, that's gratifying.
