Bronco and a stranger who appears to be an eastern dude both think they have shot the same bear. They decide to fight over who gets to keep the bear. However, Bronco soon finds the man may be a dude but he can fight. As the two tangle another group of men ride up including Shanghai Williams who works along side Bronco. The stranger appears to win but Shanghai decides his men need the meat so they take the bear. Bronco tells the stranger he is working for a cattleman supplying food for railroad workers. After introductions, he learns he tangled with Teddy Roosevelt. Roosevelt watching the activity in the area becomes concerned over the excess killing of game. When Bronco learns that the railroad has employed far less men than needed for the number of buffalo killed, he comes to believe that Roosevelt is right, and that his employer, and the man he in turn is actually working for, may have ulterior motives for the excess slaughter.
