You Can't Always Get What You Want

This is a very good episode. When a lawyer friend approaches Booth, she asks him to review the case of a man who is about to be executed. It was one of Booth's early arrests. Of course, the episode revolves around the efforts of everyone to prove the guy didn't do it. But things take an interesting turn at the end. We meet a true villain. The interactions between Brennan and Booth is quite good. He is beginning to believe in her skills as the butt heads with judges and others who think the guy did it. The thing that separates this from the others is a reality and a statement of philosophy--life lessons that are shared. The rest of the gang puts its heart and soul into everything. Well done. I watched this show long ago but had forgotten how good it could be.

    Introducing Howard Epps

This is the first of several continuation stories on Bones. Howard Epps is an evil man who is just about to be executed. Booth ticks a lot of people off doing the right thing - making sure he is 100% guilty. The story ends in a way I never saw coming!

The friendship between Booth and Bones grows stronger. She says some things in the end that makes you happy these two are partners. She has a lot of respect for Booth and you can see the attraction in the end. The chemistry between B & B is what makes this show so wonderful!

We'll see Howard Epps in, I believe, two more episodes before he's done with.

    • Goofs
Zack shoots several photos at the old crime scene. In some he holds the camera horizontally, others vertically. After each shot we are shown the viewfinder perspective, and the image is always for a camera held horizontally. This is clear from the split-image focus element; the center line is parallel to the base of the camera, and would be vertical when the camera is held vertically.

      [after Bones attacks Howard Epps]

Dr. Temperance Brennan: Are you gonna arrest me for assault?

Special Agent Seeley Booth: From what I saw, purely self-defense.
