- After learning that plays on words helps Darrin in his line of work, Endora casts a spell that makes Darrin speak only in clichés ... whether she meant to pick on Darrin or not, Endora ends up helping Darrin in the end after all.
- Because of Tabitha being a witch, Darrin, in agreeing to Samantha's suggestion that Tabitha is ready for kindergarten, allows for Endora's choice of Professor Poindexter Phipps, a warlock, to be her at-home tutor if only the professor teaches her in the mortal way. Meanwhile, for Darrin's latest campaign, he explains to Endora that his play off a familiar phrase - in this case, "never cry over spilt milk" - is meant to evoke a sense of comfort, and thus is only one of many strategies for success in his business, but one that should not be overused. So when the two of them have yet another of their disagreements, Endora, without Darrin or Samantha's knowledge, decides to place a spell on him where he spouts off one tired cliché after another. She ratchets up her anger toward Darrin with a slightly more devastating spell after he figures out about the first one. These spells cause problems for Darrin as he has come up with a campaign for H.B. Summers that does not use these tired clichés and refuses to do so even when Summers insists after hearing Darrin spout off these familiar phrases. A problem of a different kind emerges when one of the professor's teaching tool comes into contact with Summers.—Huggo
