Trivia

Teresa Schnable (played by Jenny O'Hara), who is searching for her father and wants the NYPD to make him talk to her, asks Captain Miller (Hal Linden) and Sergeant Wojciehowitz (Max Gail) if they have ever heard of the Napoleonic Code, believing it will compel them to help her. The Napoleonic Code is the French civil code established under Napoléon I in 1804. It was drafted by a commission of four eminent jurists.. The Code, with its stress on clearly written and accessible law, was a major step in replacing the previous patchwork of feudal laws. It is regarded as one of the few documents that have influenced the whole world. See more »

Jenny O'Hara and Bruce Kirby
19 May 2014 | by See all my reviews

"The Search" finds Harris on mugging duty, facing the daunting task of having to shave off the mustache that makes him look "so damn good!" (Yemana: "I shaved once, I didn't like it!"). Dietrich believes the men should wear panties on duty: "you don't wear panties, you feel like a tramp!" Even in full dress, minus hair adorning his upper lip, Harris looks every bit as stylish as he thinks he is (Wojo: "I wanna say something to you that I never thought I'd say...your dress is ready!"). Arny Freeman (fourth of six) plays the host of a science program heckled by an unruly teenager ("if you're so smart, how come you're bald?"), who threatens to "put his can on a Bunsen burner!" Jenny O'Hara (first of two) plays a young woman reporting her father missing...for 28 years! COLUMBO's Bruce Kirby (second of three) plays the man she believes to be her father, working in Manhattan at a health spa, who could be one of a dozen guilty suspects who slept with her mother...in the dark. He asks Nick if he thinks they look alike (Yemana: "I'm the wrong person to ask!").
