    • Trivia
The fellow Banacek meets on the back lot of "Globe Studios" (aka, Universal Studios), who says he was the head wrangler when they filmed westerns, is Terry Wilson of Wagon Train fame (1957-65). His diatribe of doctor and cop shows replacing westerns is an inside jab at Robert Fuller (his Wagon Train co-star), who was at the time filming Emergency! (a doctor show) there on the Universal Lot.

Thomas Banacek: There's an old Polish proverb that says, "The chicken that clucks the loudest is the one most likely to go to the steamfitters picnic."

    The Missing Horse
Thomas Banacek(George Peppard) is called in on a case involving a prized thoroughbred horse that somehow went missing/was swapped for another horse during a run around the track. The current owner named Katherine Wells(played by Anne Francis) is getting out of the business, though the horse's trainer(played by Tim O'Connor) and his beautiful daughter(played by Lane Bradbury) are very concerned about their beloved horse, and unhappy with money-minded Katherine, though there are other suspects like a rival horse owner(played by John Crawford) and his associate. Just who is responsible, and how was the switch pulled off? Entertaining and authentic-looking episode with a typically clever solution(that owes a nod to the celebrated "Sherlock Homes" short story 'Silver Blaze'). Pamela Hensley has a memorable guest spot at the beginning.
